This year's World Peace Summit is to be held in New Zealand’s capital, Wellington. It is the first such event in New Zealand, but one of a series of international leadership forums focused on achieving peace, justice, tolerance, and an environmentally sustainable world. The event will take place during March 29 – 30, 2008 at Westpac St James Theatre in Wellington.

Inspired by Vishwa Guru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwaranandaji, disciples from Slovenia Narsingh Puri and Narangi Devi got married on January 19, 2008. The ceremony took place at Vishwa Deep Gurukul Swami Maheshwarananda Ashram in Jadan and was performed entirely by the ancient Vedic traditions.
